Doa Harian

Ya Allah Ya Tuhan ku....Selamatkan lah kelurgaku
  • Isteri ku
  • Anak-anak ku
  • Kedua Ibu Bapa ku
  • Adik Beradik ku
  • Tok Che & Tok Wan ku
  • Guru-guru ku
  • dan aku sendiri...

Biarlah aku berani kerana benar

Awalkan lah sembahyang ku, khusuk kan lah sembahyang ku

Letakkan lah aku diatas jalan Tariqah

Tunjukkan lah aku jalan yang benar...tunjukkan lah aku jalan yang lurus

Biarlah aku dapat berjumpa Rasullullah (saw)

Biarlah aku sentiasa merendah diri

Masukkan lah aku sifat Mahmudah

Jauhkan lah aku sifat Mazmummah

Ya Allah Ya Tuhan ku....pelajaran ku....pekerjaan ku

Matikan lah aku dalam husnul khotimah...

7 Habits Quotes # 2

  1. Paradigm is inseparable with character. What we "see" is highly interelated with what we are. It is the source of our behaviour and attitude.
  2. "Realities" is map of way things are.
  3. "Values" is map of way things should be.
  4. Sow a thought reap an action; sow an action reap a habit; sow a habit reap a character; sow a character reap a destinity
  5. You can buy a person's hand, but you can't buy his heart.
  6. PRO-ACTIVE doesn't mean being pushy, obnoxious, or agressive. It does mean recognizing our responsibility to make things happen
  7. Anytime we think the "problem" is out there....the thought itself is a problem

Day 5 of Ramadhan in Finland

Today is the 5th day of Ramadhan. It has been quite an experience to be on "bachelor"status in a foreign country like Finland. Cold, daylight becoming shorter and shorter....in fact, by next month sunset will be around 4:30 pm, nobody to talk to....fortunately got notebook and access to internet, at least can do some writing & reading blogs. Perhaps this "blogging" thing is becoming my new hobby now. It's borderless communication, freedom to express myself....it's like talking to somebody out there who is willing to listen. New experience for me.

Not having my wife and daughter physically with me, especially during weekend.....is something that I really miss. Maybe this is "What Matters Most to Me". Sometimes we take it for granted.
Also really miss the suasana bukak puasa and sahur with family. For sharing purpose, those 2 photos were taken 2 years ago...on the way to Disneyland Paris....from London.

To certain extent when I browse through all those photos.... make me feel somewhat at home.....no idea to write....?>&%@#$......should take a break. Need to go to Halal-Liha at Sornas (3 metro stops from downtown of Helsinki) to buy some daging halal....and to cook for the bukak puasa today...5 more hours to go....

Awal Ramdhan

Today is Sunday about 2 more days before first Ramadhan. Newly 2 months not updating the blog. Busy with the day-to-day work. Not a good excuse though. However, as for the information, for the past 2 months I've been reading few books by Dr Covey i.e. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, The 8th Habit and First Thing First. I've also started reading the sufi book (in Malay) i.e. Mengenal Diri dan Wali Allah (MD&WA), literal translation is "Knowing Yourself and the Saint" authored by Ustaz Mustapha Mohamed Al-Jiasi.

It's good to realize that I've been reading all these books. Infact the habit of reading will of course contribute to the grotwh of our mental capabilities. As we are aware, there are four capabilities or intelligence or needs in the human beings. They are:
  1. Physical (PQ)
  2. Mental (IQ)
  3. Heart/Emotional (EQ)
  4. Spiritual (SQ)

All of the above are required to be well balance if we were to have "successfull" and "peaceful" life. Dr Covey and I have the same understanding, i.e. the foundation of our "happiness" is the SQ or "conscience" or the true north principles.

In the book MD&WA, it was mentioned that our life is in fact a journey. Pergembaraan menuju ke hadrat Allah (swt). In terms of nafsu (nafs), based on the teaching of tasawwuf, there are 7 levels or maqam. They are:

  1. Nafsu Amarrah (1st step)
  2. Nafsu Lawwamah
  3. Nafsu Mulhimmah
  4. Nafsu Mutmainnah (entering the sainthood)
  5. Nafsu Radhiah
  6. Nafsu Mardhiyyah
  7. Nafsu Kamil

Based on our belief, to gain a "real" success in this world and the day after, we need to strive at least for no 4 i.e. Nafsu Mutmainnah. Off course this is not an easy task, most people even stuck at no 1 until they die. But this should be our vision, mission, goal and objective for the SQ.

How to achieve? Knowledge is the first step. To know what we do not know. Get the murshid (teacher) and do the mujahaddah (struggle)....pray to the Al-Mighty for our success.

It's 3.44 Finland time....plan to visit a friend of mine i.e. Zahari (Malaysian Embassy staff). Wait for Asar first and go there....
